Jacquie Hoekstra is the author of the Bible studies Peter: A Life Transformed and Becoming Israel: Jacob’s Struggle. She has also published a short story, This Servant’s Hands.
Jacquie’s thirty years of experience in leading groups, Bible studies, and ministry shine through her written works. She teaches with humor and authenticity. Her journey with inner healing and overcoming trials makes her studies relatable.
Jacquie has degrees in Bible study from Life Pacific College and Theology from Canyon College. She was ordained by The International Church of the Foursquare Gospel in 2008. However, she no longer holds credentials due to a couple of moves for her husband’s work and no longer having a specific appointment. She continues to serve through preaching, teaching, and serving on her church’s inner healing team.
Jacquie’s last move placed her in Brownsville, Oregon, a small historic town in the Willamette Valley. Brownsville is famous for two things. The movie Stand By Me was filmed there, and it is in the grass-seed capital of the world. Jacquie enjoys the ever-changing views of the farmlands and watching lambs and calves frolic in the fields. She often spies Bald Eagles and other birds of prey. The air is fresh, and the pace of life is peaceful.
Jacquie and her husband enjoy their home in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. They have a view of the valley, grass-seed and hazelnut tree farms, and the Coast Range Mountains in the background. Jacquie especially enjoys watching and photographing sunsets and thanks God daily for the blessings.
