“But to the sons of Kohath he gave [no cart and no oxen], because theirs was the service of the holy things, which they carried on their shoulders” (Numbers 7:9).
When it comes to the holy things, whether our consecration or our holiness, it is our burden to bear. No one else can do the work for us; it is our burden to bear. Jesus said, “My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:30).
There is an illustration of a man who approached Jesus and said his cross was just too big of a burden for him to bear. Jesus offered the man to come into a room full of crosses of all sizes and pick one he liked better. The man took the opportunity and spend quite a lot of time looking around and trying out the crosses. He turned and saw one near the door he had entered. It was small and seemed like a good fit, so he told Jesus he would like to take that one. Jesus smiled and said, “That is the one you came in with” (author unknown).
Jesus knows the burden He has given you to to walk in holiness and be sanctified is not difficult for you. He knows the ministry He has called you to is also a good fit for you. You should make it no more difficult or easy than He has made it, because His fit is a perfect fit for you.
Jesus, thank you for the burden you have given me. I know it has been designed specifically for me and me for it. I will carry it for You and for Your glory.
“For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen” (Romans 11:36).
