Eagle’s Wings A Vision for 2019

I took a day to seek the Lord for myself for 2019.  I hope you take time at the end of ever y calendar year to do the same. Seeking Him for His will and desire for the coming year helps us find perspective. It gives us a moment to look over the past year and see where we have grown, where we have fallen short, and where we stand today. It gives us an opportunity to let go of the hurts and failures of the year and regroup with hope for a better year to come. It also gives us a chance to invite Jesus to challenge us to dream bigger than we ever have before, knowing He is able to deliver us into our destined purposes in Him.

I took this time yesterday to seek the Lord for 2019. I thought I would have to pray my way into the space to hear from Him, but as soon as I turned my thoughts toward Him and His will for me in 2019, I immediately had a vision.  I saw an enormous golden eagle turn his head and look at me with His glorious fiery eye.

The vision pulled back and I was looking at the eagle from above and saw myself sitting at the base of the eagle’s neck. The eagle was so large, I barely had head and shoulders above his feathers. There was a thin blue rope beneath His wings to which I held on with both hands.

His look made me feel safe, protected and filled with trust in the one who was carrying me. I had no worry about time or destination, my full trust was given to the eagle who I was convinced would deliver me on time. I understood I was soaring with the Lord, but I understood it differently than I ever have before.

I have been receiving words about soaring with the Lord for several years and have seen progress, but have not seen what I perceived to be fruition. I have always imagined a vision of soaring alongside of the Lord – with Him leading and guiding. In this vision I understand, I am doing none of the work. My only job in the vision is to cling to Jesus with restful trust in His ability to deliver me to my next assignment. My job is simple; pursue intimacy with Him.

Jesus is calling you up to a higher faith-trust than ever before. Will you cling to Him in intimate relationship and allow Him to bring you up higher and deliver you into your destiny right on time?  I believe 2019 is a year of arrival. Don’t try to make it happen, don’t work for it, and certainly don’t fight for it. Simply grab on to the Eagle’s feathers and cling tight as you are about to soar with Jesus!  Go deep in your relationship with Him and you will arrive at the right place at the right time. Trust in Him.

Read this scripture and ask yourself who is doing the work here: “You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself” (Exodus 19:4). God is doing the heavy lifting! Israel’s part was to trust and obey, and God did the rest.  How can you apply this to your life today and for 2019?

“As an eagle stirs up its nest, hovers over its young, spreading out its wings, taking them up, carrying them on its wings” (Deuteronomy 32:11). He will carry you in 2019. Will you let Him? Scripture even tells us how to let Him: “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.’” (Psalm 91:1-2). Are you dwelling in the secret place? Are you abiding and giving Him your trust? Will you commit to do these things in 2019? Will you start today?

May the Lord bless whatever you set your hands to do for His kingdom and His glory in 2019.  For those who have been waiting on Him, He says, “But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31). It is time to mount up on eagle’s wings!
